Publication in Ceiba (2024)

My poem, “Nativo Digital”, published in the journal Ceiba, is a reflection on language, identity, and transformation.

Through powerful imagery and evocative metaphors, I immerse the reader in a world where words take on a mutable and almost untamable character.

The idea of a “versatile tongue” suggests the ability of language to adapt to different contexts, revealing how communication and expression are essential tools in the evolution of thought and society.

In this poem, I explore the tension between tradition and post-modernity, a recurring dilemma in contemporary literature. I noticed this from my english literature class.

The phrase “impatient curiosity” reflects an insatiable desire to explore, learn, and break away from the established, while the images reinforce a sense of constant movement and transformation.

My work questions the limits of language and its impact on the construction of reality, a theme that resonates in the digital era, where the written and spoken word take on new forms and meanings.

Beyond its linguistic richness, this poem is an invitation to reflect on identity and memory, elements I intertwine with orality and writing.

In a world where narratives change rapidly, my poetry serves as a reminder of the power of language to shape our understanding of the past and present. My style, which oscillates between the symbolic and the everyday, offers a profound look at the human experience and how words connect us to our history and our environment. And thats eco-criticism. Topic that will discuss later on. I invite you to read a few poems published in Ceiba.
