Uno de mayo

Image
Tu...

In education, culture and change are very important for teachers and students. The school reflects the community, like an urban neighborhood, where children learn from their environment and from each other. Culture affects how students behave, learn, and grow their personality. Teachers help students stay organized, patient, and communicative when facing changes. A teacher is also a change agent who plans lessons, follows the curriculum, and creates new ideas to help students learn better. Schools can both protect culture and improve it by making positive changes. Technology tools like Jamboard , Zoom , Google Meet , and Google Classroom help students and teachers communicate, share ideas, and learn in fun and modern ways. ER

Technology has become very important in my work as a future English teacher. It helps me teach better and faster. For example, I can use apps like Google Classroom and Duolingo to share lessons and help students practice English. This makes learning more fun and easy. One advantage is that students can learn anywhere, even at home. But one disadvantage is that not all students have good internet or devices. Technology also brings challenges, like learning how to use new tools and staying focused. In the future, I think technology will keep changing education by making classes more interactive and helping teachers reach more students around the world. -ER

The theory of “delayed hominization,” which distinguishes between a formed and an unformed embryo (XIII) SANTO TOMAS DE AQUINO

Image
Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish - General Santos City The text explains the Church’s position about abortion. It talks about an article written by Rino Fisichella , who said that the Church’s teaching about abortion has not changed and cannot change. The text also shows that, through history, the Church has always tried to protect human life from the very beginning, from the moment a baby starts growing in the mother. The Bible is used to support this idea. One verse says that God knows us before we are born. Another verse says that God sees us even when we are being formed in secret. These ideas show that life is important from the very start. The text explains that abortion, when it is done on purpose, is very wrong according to moral law. It says that something “licit” means something that is right or allowed, but abortion is not considered licit. The Church teaches that abortion is a serious sin. Because of this, a person who causes an abortion can be punished wit...

Conference: “ Una mirada sobre la presencia Canaria en las palabras y expresiones puertorriqueñas” By Dr. Iván L. Torres

Image
March 1 8 , 2024 The presence of the Canary Islands in Puerto Rico has influenced Puerto Rican words and expressions.   Immigrant groups brought their idiosyncrasies to the island.   It's  also a genealogical matter. There are records that corroborate the "first families" whose descendants are from the Canary Islands.   Families that mostly came from the Canary Islands. All of   t his  aspects   in the context of the Spanish Crown.   This leads us to ask: Who are we? Roots, ancestors from  different places , immigrants. Understanding this leads us to understand our national identity.   Words like "jibaro" ,  phrases like " ni   tú   ni  fa" come from the Canarian tradition.   The Canarian presence in Puerto Rico reminds us that OUR country has a rich culture and encompasses different immigrations that have influenced our words and expressions . -ER

Do you think it's worth it to play the lottery? Why or why not?

Image
Now, let’s talk about the lottery. Do I think it is worth it? From a math and money point of view, the answer is no.  The lottery is a poor investment because the chances of winning are very small. It is not a good way to earn money or plan your future. We should not rely on it for financial security. But there is another way to see it.  For many, the dream of winning brings happiness and dopamine release, reducing stress in their daily lives. Thats why in the supermarket where I work, they got a "Play Room" (casino style) for the clients.  Sometimes, people play the lottery for fun.  Buying one ticket can feel exciting, like starting a new story. Many people enjoy dreaming about what they would do if they win. This dream can bring happiness and even help people feel less stress after a long day. Also, playing with others can be fun. For example, people at work might join together to buy tickets when the prize is very big. They talk, laugh, and share hope. It ...

How often do you read? Would you like to read more? Why or why not?

"Books are mirrors: you only see in them what you already have inside you" -Carlo Ruiz Zafón Im out of my shift in the supermarket. The history of "reading" as a human act haves some key concept that I want to mention: the origins, the alphabetic shift ,the printing press, mass reading and mass literacy. This keys guide me to answer this question.  I read very often because reading helps me learn and understand my human condition and the others. I am studying to be an English teacher, so books are very important in my life. I read stories, poems, and school texts. One story I read is  The Boy in the Striped Pajamas , and it helped me understand history of the Holocaust and the feelings about it. I also read short stories like  Araby  and fun books like  One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish , etc. I love poetry the most. I consider my self a poet.  More than for the classic writing itself, it's for the way I see the world in every thought, words and a...
