Would you ever consider switching to an online bank? Why or why not?

 

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else’s life.” (Steve Jobs, US Chamber, 2025). Jobs advocates for self-directed life choices. Online banking supports: Financial independence, real-time control over money, reduced reliance on institutional intermediaries.

Thats some facts about online banking and grate connotations with Steve Jobs and  the Online Banking topic in discussion. I will express what a I prefer an hybrid system or face to face service. 

The etymology The word "bank" originates from the Italian word banca (bench/table) " referring to the benches used by Renaissance-era moneylenders to conduct transactions, which in turn stems from Old High German banc or bank."

The term entered English via Middle French banque to describe a money-dealer's table". That give us a picture of what I do as part-time job at the Supermarket. Im a cashier. Hands on the bank of the front end.

In addition, my grandmother didn't study in college, just a High School diploma .  Before marrying my grand father, she was a cashier. And she also haves memory of the first Supermarket in our town. And how she put in praxis all the math of every article on the bank in a front end without computer just the rudimentary machine. All those memories are based in the sector called: La Jagüa, Salinas, Puerto Rico.

Furthermore, technology simplifies some duty of this human version. By automating memory, accelerating communication, and turning effort into interface, so the mind can move from survival toward meaning. But I prefer face to face service. It gives me more security. Im a nervous person. I think that its a fact that online bank can avoid regulatory review and facilitate massive financial crimes. 

Besides all that. Im in an hybrid bank system. So I think I prefer face to face service even knowing that the artificial intelligence would swallow it all.

In conclusion, we need to be prepare to all the challenges with technology. It's a codependence conduct. The online bank can be stressful for a person living  in a precarious community in the rural zone pf the town. All this reflection also makes me think about covert operations and influence: The CIA has historically used banks to influence or manipulate the economies of foreign nations to align with Western interests. (Los Angeles Times , 1991).
